About the 21 Days of Consecration

What is Consecration?

To consecrate means to set yourself apart for God, dedicate your life, mind and habits to Him; remove distractions so you can hear God clearly, and give God intentional time and space in your life.

Scriptures:

Joshua 3:5 – Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
Romans 12:1 – Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.

What does it mean to sanctify yourself?

To sanctify yourself means to allow the Holy Spirit to clean your heart, walk away from what God is not pleased with, discipline your thoughts and actions, and say “Yes” to God and “No” to flesh.

Scriptures:

John 17:17 – Sanctify them through Thy truth; Thy word is truth.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 – This is the will of God, even your sanctification...

Fasting: More than abstaining from food

For some, skipping meals is normal or medically necessary; therefore, food alone may not be sacrifice. The real fast asks: What are you willing to give up for God? Possible sacrifices include social media, television, gossip, sexual sin, negative thinking, unhealthy relationships, sugar or caffeine, and attitudes of anger and pride.

Scriptures:

Isaiah 58:6 – Is not this the fast that I have chosen…

Matthew 16:24 – If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself…

Rebuilding the altar

The altar is the meeting place between you and God. It is where prayer is restored, surrender happens, hearts are healed and direction is given. During this consecration, we rebuild the altars of prayer, worship, obedience, repentance and discipline.

Scripture:

1 Kings 18:30 – And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.

Why we are Consecrating

We desire deeper intimacy with God, refuse to live distracted, need clarity and direction, and are breaking unhealthy cycles, aligning our church with God’s agenda, and believing God is rebuilding lives and families.

Scripture:

James 4:8 – Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
